Obituary of Eleanor C. Nealy

Eleanor C. Nealy, age 94, of Riddle Village in Media, PA, passed away on April 3, 2024. Eleanor was born in Chester, PA to Clayton A. andEleanor Stoms Carroll and was a long-time resident of Trainer, PA. She graduated from Chester High School, Class of 1947.  After high school, she worked as secretary for the superintendent of the Chester School District and was a member of the Christian Business Women Association. Eleanor and William Nealy married in 1957.  She was actively involved at Marcus Hook Baptist Church where she was president of the Women's Missionary Society and taught children’s classes. Eleanor was a volunteer at Riddle Hospital for many years and was also involved in The ARC of Delaware County. Eleanor had the gift of hospitality and was known for her Sunday dinners and delicious pies. In addition to her parents, Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband, William G. Nealy, Jr, who passed in 2000, and her siblings, Clayton Carroll, James Carroll, Margaret McConnell, Dorothy Schlagenhauser, and Marjorie Kicak. She is survived by three children, Susan (John) Waller, William (Beth) Nealy, and Andrew Nealy, grandchild, Brady Waller, and sisters, Audrey Blossic and Major Lorraine Fleming.Interment will be private. A memorial service will be held on May 11, 2024, in the Clara Schrenk Memorial Chapel at Williamson College of the Trades Rowan Hall.  Visitation at 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. Donations in Eleanor's name may be made to Gideons International (gideons.org/donate).
