Obituary of Caesar R. DeBerardinis Jr.

Caesar R. DeBerardinis Jr., age 92, of Boothwyn, PA passed away on January 14, 2024. Caesar was born in Ossining, NY and was raised in Garden City, Chester PA. He and his family resided in Boothwyn for over 60 years in the house that he built. Caesar graduated from St. James Catholic High School and joined the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. After many years working with his father in the concrete business Caesar then began his career as a Design Supervisor and Project Engineer for Sun Oil in Marcus Hook. He retired in 1991. As a graduate from St. James Catholic High School he stayed in close contact with his many classmates and also sang in the choir, the Blue & Gray Voices. Devoted to his Catholic faith, Caesar was a member of St. John Fisher and previously Immaculate Conception of Lourdes in Marcus Hook. Caesar loved his children and grandchildren and they always enjoyed his company, listening to stories and knowing that he always had a great joke to tell. A talented man, Caesar was known for his beautiful Stain Glass work, he was an avid gardener(he grew the best tomatoes around ) and he was always "King of the Beach" when fishing for blues! In addition to his parents, Caesar and Lucy Fiore DeBerardinis, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Pontillo DeBerardinis who died in 2020, and three siblings, Theresa Bell, Josephine Brandolini and Virginia Hubbert. Caesar is survived by 4 children, Joseph (JoAnne) DeBerardinis, Marie (William) Reichert, Nancy DeBerardinis and Fran DeBerardinis, a sister, Consiglia Delia, and Ralph "Butch" DeBerardinis and seven grandchildren, Eric DeBerardinis, Ryan (Erin)DeBerardinis, Elizabeth DeBerardinis, Nicholas Reichert, Jackie DeBerardinis, June DeBerardinis and Alivia Reichert. A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 20th from 9:00-10:15AM at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 4225 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn, PA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM. Interment, Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Caesar's memory may be sent to St. James Alumni Scholarship Fund at 1499 E. 9th St., Eddystone, PA 19022.
