Obituary of George E. Spannbauer Jr.

George E. Spannbauer Jr., age 84 of Upper Chichester, PA passed away on November 15, 2023 at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center. Born in Amsterdam, NY and raised in Glen, NY, George resided for the past 43 years in Upper Chichester. George was self employed for 50 years working in advertising, most recently with the Truck & Trailer Magazine. He graduated from Fonda - Fultonville Central High School Class of 1957 and proudly served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. George was devoted to his faith and was a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church where he was a 4th degree knight in the Holy Saviour Knights of Columbus Council 13710. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus choir and the Chichester Community Band. In addition to his parents, George E. and Bernice L. Stearns Spannbauer Sr., George is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Green who passed in 2022. He is survived by 4 sons, George "Ed" (Brenda) Spannbauer III, Brian D. Spannbauer, Jeffrey J. (Angie) Spannbauer and Eric S. (Melissa) Spannbauer, 4 siblings, John T. (Tri) Spannbauer, Patricia (Gerald) Grandy, Linda (John) Anderson and Eileen (George) Weis and 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 9-10:45AM at St. John Fisher Catholic Church,4225 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11AM. Interment will be held privately on Wednesday 10:00AM at St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.
