Obituary of Jean Pagano

Jean Pagano, 81, of Secane PA passed suddenly on October 12, 2023 with her loving family by her side. While Jean was her given name, Mom, Jeanie Dell, Jeanie, Aunt Jeanie, Mrs. P, Jeanie P, the "Mayor of Secane", and her personal favorite MeMom, were among the names used by many who loved her through the years. Jean was born to Michael DellaVecchia and Margaret (Riccobono). A Native of Southwest Philadelphia, Jean attended John Bartram High School. Upon graduation, she was proudly named "Class Wit", for Jean loved to make people laugh and often commented that she had missed her Hollywood calling. In her early years, Jean worked at the American Heart Association and First Penn National Bank. Jean loved to dance, enjoyed music (especially Elvis Presley), and was always the highlight of the party. Her devotions were to family, faith, fashion and food. Pizza being her favorite food, it is no surprise that she met her future husband, Ted, at the Original House of Pagano's, his parents' legendary University City Italian eatery. Together they had four children, the pride and joy of her life: Theodore F. Pagano Jr., Dean Pagano (Joanie), Marlo Pagano-Kelleher Esq. (David) and Dr. Melissa P. Broyles (David). Jean's blessings also included her six grandchildren: Reagan and Rigby Pagano, Kennedy and Samuel "Sam" Kelleher, and Elena and Alexander Broyles. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her Aunt and Uncle, Rose and Louis Mongeluzzo and her two siblings, Anthony DellaVecchia and Joan DellaVecchia, who passed as an infant. Jean is survived by her husband, Theodore F. Pagano Sr., her four loving children, sister Marie Rivell, nephew Robert "Bobby" Rivell, and cousin Anthony Natale, whom she cherished and referred to as her brother. A viewing will be held on Friday evening, October 20, 2023 from 6-8pm at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA 19060. An additional viewing will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 651 E Springfield Rd, Springfield, PA 19064 on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 9:15-10:15am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM. Interment, S.S. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or the St. Jude Foundation (www.stjude.org).  Online condolences may be made online by visiting www.paganofuneralhome.com.
