Obituary of Cynthia Ann Amalfitano

Cynthia Ann Amalfitano, age 63, of Wilmington, DE passed away unexpectedly on September 26, 2023. Born to Richard Thomas and Barbara Gale Swanson Saienni in Wilmington, DE, she has resided there for many years, previously residing in Chadds Ford, PA and Claymont, DE. Cindy was a preschool teacher at Concord Preschool for over 26 years. During the 1990's, she helped at the family shop, Claymont News and Gifts, making floral arrangements. She attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church while living in Wilmington. A creative soul, she was a fantastic cook, seamstress, and crafter. Cindy also loved animals and took care of her cats, fish, horses, and goats, but nothing brought her more joy than her two dogs, Vaughn and Jingles. In later years, she enjoyed visiting Rehoboth Beach almost every weekend. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Saienni. Cynthia is survived by her daughter, Alex (Max) Amalfitano-Graney, siblings, Sandy (Donna Gallianni) Saienni, and Michael (Mabel) Saienni, and her former husband, Frank Amalfitano.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5, from 9:00AM to 12:00PM, at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 12:00PM. Interment, Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.paganofuneralhome.com.
