Obituary of Eugene M Dambro

Eugene (Gene) M. Dambro, 83, of Chadds Ford PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday July 10th, 2023. Gene was born in Chester, while there was a fire in the kitchen, to the late Constantino Dambro and Philomena DeFrancisco. His stepfather John DeFrancisco (Murph) came into his life shortly after and he gained his two siblings. Gene graduated from St. James Catholic High School in 1958 and married his high school love, Christine. He retired from the Department of Defense and was previously employed by Westinghouse and the Navy Yard. Gene's greatest gift in life was his two granddaughters. He says the days they were born were the two best days of his life. When he retired, his life revolved around them. He attended almost all their softball games and other events. His other hobbies included hunting, fishing, cars, sports and any food prepared by his sister Anita. He was also a die-hard Eagles and Phillies fan. Go Birds. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Christine Dambro (nee Stiles), daughter Christine Dambro Hallman, granddaughters Gina and Julia Hallman, sister Anita Ristine, brother John DeFrancisco (Pat), son in law John Hallman, sisters-in-law, Liz DeFrancisco, Bernice (Lee) Chetty and Diane Stiles and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 17th from 9-11AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11AM. Interment will remain private.
