Obituary of Samuel F. Guittare Sr.

Samuel "Sam" F. Guittare, Sr., age 99 of Lewes, DE passed away peacefully at home on October 17, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Born to Carmello and Mary Cassella Guittare in Franklin, NJ. He resided in Lewes, DE for the past 44 years. Sam worked for Sun Oil in Marcus Hook, PA for 35 years prior to retiring in 1980. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and member of the American Legion Post #0028 in Millsboro, DE. He loved his trips to Las Vegas where he visited often. He also enjoyed boating, crabbing, clamming, and fishing. In addition to his late parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Clara McMaster Guittare, who passed in 2009, daughter, Nancy E. Kalinowsky, who passed in 2018, and four siblings, Michael, Anthony, and John Guittare, and Anne Howard. Sam is survived by his son, Samuel F. (Frances) Guittare, Jr., son-in-law, Henry Kalinowsky, five grandchildren; Jennifer (Rob) Whartnaby, Michael Kalinowsky, Ryan (Lindsay) Guittare, Lauren Guittare, and Samuel Guittare, six great grandchildren; Courtney, Robert, Chase, Ryley, Grady, and Livia, and sister, Amelia Passick.  A visitation will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022 from 9:30-11:00 AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM.
