Obituary of Laura D. Adams

Laura D. Adams, age 58, of West Chester, PA passed away on July 17, 2022 at home. Born in Lebanon, PA, she has resided in West Chester for the past 23 years, previously residing in Upper Darby, PA and Cleona, PA. She was baptized and accepted her Lord and Savior at Fairland Brethren in Christ Church. Laura was a 1981 graduate of Annville-Cleona High School, often finding a way with dear friends and family to remind them she was homecoming queen. She went on to receive her Bachelors of Science from Messiah College as part of the inaugural and fully accredited nursing program in 1985. Laura was proud of her profession in community nursing and then as a hospice field nurse and ultimately as the manager of the field team at AseraCare Hospice. However, she would tell everyone that her most coveted role was always as homemaker and mother to her five children. She was an active member of Covenant Fellowship Church participating in Bible studies, adult and youth group meetings, homeschool co-op teacher, youth camp nurse, and for 15 years participating in a Friday morning prayer meeting with her dearest sisters in the Lord. Laura enjoyed long days on the beach in Brigantine, NJ, where you could find her reading in her chair, feet in the water. She was a loving wife and a proud mother and 'Mimi'. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jay Neil and Constance Sholly Dutweiler. Laura is survived by her loving husband of over 36 years, Andrew Martin Adams, five children; Emma (Max) Bentley, Olivia (Tim) Streeper, Isaac (Ariana) Adams, Phoebe (Dylan) Thomas, and Andrew Jacob Adams, eleven grandchildren, James, Lucas, Andrew Carter, Julian, Samuel, Aubrey, Timothy, Jr., Eloise, Mabel, Theodore, and Gwenyth, sister, Dawn (Dennis) Gearhart, two brothers, Jed (Fiona) Dutweiler and Jace Dutweiler. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, 4pm to 6pm at the Covenant Fellowship Church, 1 Fellowship Drive, Glen Mills, PA 19342, followed by a funeral service at 6pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Laura's memory be made to Covenant Mercies (https://covenantmercies.org/).
