Obituary of Thomas E. McHale

Thomas E. McHale, age 78 of Drexel Hill, PA passed away peacefully on August 20, 2018. A resident of Drexel Hill for over 50 years, he previously resided in Upper Darby. Born, raised & educated in Philadelphia, Tom graduated with a degree in Finance from Villanova University. He served in the Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Both he and his brother James, operated their own furniture business, Harwood Furniture & Upholstery Co. in Upper Darby for many years. In addition to his parents, James Sr. & Eleanor Neville McHale, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise McGuckin McHale who died in 2013. He is survived by 4 children, Coleen Pinto, Kathleen (Al Stirba) McHale, Thomas (Christine) McHale and Daniel (Kelly) McHale, brother, James J. (Margo) McHale Jr. and 9 grandchildren, Mary Kate, Lindsay, Joshua, Jessica, Julia, Brendan, Patrick, Colin & Piper. A visitation will be held on Thursday 7-9PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA 19060 and Friday 9-9:45AM at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 3500 School Lane, Drexel Hill, PA 19026 followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM. Interment, S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made the St. Andrews Church Building Fund at the above address.
