Obituary of James J. Pretti

James J. Pretti, of Boothwyn, PA, passed away suddenly at his home on August 12, 2026. He was 87 years old.

James was born to the late Joseph Pretti and Mary Vananski Pretti in New Philadelphia. He graduated from Chester High School and went on serve in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he spent his working career at Allied Chemical. Avid golf fan and caddied at Brandywine Country Club in his younger years. Outside of his occupation, James enjoyed playing darts and shuffleboard with his teams, watching golf, and spending time with family and his grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons Scott (Debra) Decker, Jimmy (LJ) Pretti, his sisters Marie, Margaret and Kathy Pretti, his brothers Robert and Thomas and his grandchildren Morghan Decker, Austin Decker, and Emmalyn Pretti.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his beloved wife Lynda Decker Pretti who passed away in 2018.
