Obituary of Jean Blaier
Jean Blaier, age 90, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on August 2, 2026, at Christiana Wilmington Hospital.
Born and raised in Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Latham) Cornell. Jean had resided in Wilmington for the past 60 years.
Jean spent her early years working in retail sales. After marrying her late husband, Werner Blaier, who passed away in 2011, she devoted most of her life to being a homemaker. She enjoyed animals, especially horses, and loved watching the Phillies and the Eagles. Devoted to her faith, Jean was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her two children, Sharan M. Duren and Karl Blaier (Ainta); her two brothers, John Cornell (Patti) and Ronnie Cornell (Sandra); her three grandchildren, Gary Duren (Tedi), Amber Mills (Jeff), and Lindsay Blaier-Short (Justin); as well as several nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1120 Darley Rd., Wilmington, DE. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lawn Croft Cemetery.
