Obituary of Mary Lou Robinson
Mary Lou Robinson, age 79 passed away unexpectedly on July 28th 2026 at her home. At the time, she had been residing in Wilmington, Delaware for several years after growing up in the Ogden section of Upper Chichester Township.
Mary Lou was a dedicated competitive roller skater in her younger years, skating at the Great Leopard in Chester with a group known as the "Flea Hopers", the Elsmere Roller Rink and the Printz. Mary Lou attended West Chester State and Brandywine Colleges. She was also a graduate of Holy Saviour and Notre Dame Catholic Schools. Mary Lou was a New Castle Police Officer, worked as a dispatcher with the Wilmington City Police Department, and held various positions at the Delaware City Refinery, most recently with Security. Mary Lou was an avid animal lover, especially her cats.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Louis and Helen Robinson and two sisters, Margaret Mary and Anne. She is survived by two brothers, Louis "Robi" (Audrey) Robinson and William (Alice) Robinson and a number of nephews and nieces.
A visitation for Mary Lou will take place on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 9:30AM-10:30AM at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 4225 Chichester Ave., Upper Chichester, PA followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Interment, Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Forgotten Cats Inc., Suite 422, 4023 Kennett Pike, Greenville, DE19807.
