Obituary of Margaret A. Granville

Margaret A. (Carr) Granville, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at Regal Heights Center in Hockessin on July 15, 2026. Margaret was known to many as Peggy or later Maggie. She was 80 years of age.

She was born on May 21, 1946, to the late Walter and Mary Barrett Granville in Philadelphia, PA, where she was also raised. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late brother, Harry J. Granville.

Margaret is survived by her children, Heather G. Ely and Timothy F. Carr Jr.; her brother, Walter J. Granville Jr.; six grandchildren; and her good friends Beth Ann Krimmel, John and Rita Gillespie, Toby Tobin, and Kate Millard.

She graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1964. She was a longstanding member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Aston, PA. Margaret spent her years working as a self-employed residential and commercial cleaner. She was a long-time resident of Aston, PA, and later in life, Wilmington, DE.

We wish to thank Delaware Hospice (Leslie, Christine, and Katelynn) and all her caregivers, especially Renae, for their kind, compassionate, and expert care centered around her needs.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 24, 2026, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 430 Valleybrook Rd., Glen Mills, PA.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her honor to your favorite charity.

Her interment will be private.
