Obituary of Robert G. Welc

Bob Welc died on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, battling multiple instances of cancer. The son of Dorothy and Capt. John Welc he is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Margaret (Peggy) Spadaccio Welc who he met while attending Alliance College, where he obtaining his BS in Business Administration. He was a long time resident of High Meadows in Middletown Township.

A graduate from St. James High School, class of '71. He retired from Boeing in Ridley after a successful 32 year career in the Flight Simulation Lab as an electronics Engineer and Project Manager. He was self taught in electronics during the CB fad in the '70's and went on from there to establish a carreer in that field, first at Suntech (Sun Oil's R & D division) in Newtown Square, then when the cable industry came into fruition at American Cable Company centered in Garden City and ultimately on to Boeing when they offered him a job after he had been trained in video transmission while at the cable company.

He was an avid golfer and ran a golf league called the "Linksturs" (www.linksturs.com) for 25 years and then with the Shipyard Tuesday 9 hole league at Pitman, N.J. He also bowled with the Penn City League at the Conchester Bowlero and ultimately with the Thursday night mixed league. He also participated in the Monday Night Bulls Eye league, a target shooting club who shot at the Delaware County Field and Stream.

Services for Bob will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 10:30 AM- 12 PM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA 19060. A Memorial service will begin at 12 PM.
