Obituary of James H. McKay Jr.

James H. McKay Jr. "Jim", age 50, of New Castle, DE, passed away suddenly on June 29th at Christiana Care.

Born in Chester, PA, Jim has resided in New Castle, DE, for 20 years, previously residing in Trainer, PA. He graduated from Chichester High School, class of 1994, and was employed with State Farm Insurance Company as an Underwriter for many years.

Jim enjoyed traveling and had many hobbies. He played softball in several leagues and was a Phillies and Flyers fan. He had a passion for football and was an avid New York Giants fan. Jim also enjoyed baking, family gatherings, especially Christmas time. He also was known for his love of amusement parks and roller coaster rides.

Jim is survived by his parents, James and Gail Cheyney Mckay of Trainer, PA, 2 sisters, Jennifer Mckay and Danielle (Jay Nickle) McKay, a niece, Jaylynn Graham, 3 nephews, Jason Nickle, Avery Graham, and Nathan Nickle, a great niece, Meilani Womack, a special friend, Jeremy McElroy as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 12 noon to 2 pm at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a Funeral Service at 2 pm. Interment will remain private.
