Obituary of James Thomas Hobbs

James Thomas Hobbs ("Jim") passed away on May 29, 2026, at the age of 82, following a recent illness.

Jim was the son of Thomas and Helen R. (O'Neill) Hobbs and was raised in Boothwyn, PA. He was currently living at home in Gwinhurst, DE.

Jim was a graduate of the Chichester High School Class of 1962. He was a sports enthusiast and played baseball and softball for many years, from his early teens well into adulthood. He was a devoted Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers fan. Jim retired from Sun Oil Company after many years of service in their HVAC Division.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Dill.

He is survived by his wife of more than 56 years, Connie L. "Pat"  Hobbs; his four children, James T. Hobbs (Shawn), Chuck Hobbs (Dawn), Keith Dill (Cecilia), and DeeAnn Hobbs Rizzo; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his brother, Neal Hobbs; two sisters, Gail McPherson and Joan Wanner; and many nieces, nephews, and cherished cousins.

He will be truly missed by his family and friends alike, but he will live on in our memories forever.

The family wishes to thank the staffs of Wilmington Rehabilitation & Nursing, Christiana Hospital, and Apex Hospice for their care and compassion.

A viewing will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA 19060. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
