Obituary of Marcia W. Randall
Marcia W. Randall, of Wilmington, DE, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, May 7, 2026. She was 76 years old.
Marcia was born in Chester, PA to the late James P. and Lydia Crosgrove Whelan. She was raised in Bethel Township and graduated from Garnet Valley High School in 1967 and later earned an associate degree from Brandywine College. A resident of Wilmington, DE for the past 6 years, she previously resided in Chester County. She was an employee at the Woodlands at Phillips in Chester County. Marcia previously was employed for 20 years at Jane Chalfant in downtown West Chester.
Marcia was a member of the Hockessin United Methodist Church and a former member of Elam United Methodist Church. She was also a longtime member and volunteer at the Brandywine River Museum of Art, where she was instrumental in managing the Annual Antique Show which she also chaired.
Additionally, Marcia enjoyed reading and was a member of several book clubs throughout her life. She was an avid reader who instilled the joy or reading in her daughter and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, and knew the names of every flower and plant. Marcia was happiest when she entertained her family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and host; sharing her home and food was the way she showed love to family and friends.
Marcia is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Pete Randall, her daughter, Abigail (Craig) McCloskey; her siblings James Whelan, Denise Burroughs, Vernon Whelan, and Jeffrey Whelan, and grandchildren Maisie and Maxwell McCloskey.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Gary Whelan who died in 2023.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation Thursday, May 14, 2026 9:45-10:45 AM at Elam United Methodist Church, 1073 Smithbridge Rd, Glen Mills, PA. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will remain private.
