Obituary of Joseph K. Newdeck
Joseph "Joe" Newdeck, 75, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, at his home in Wilmington, Delaware. Born on November 23, 1950, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Joe lived a life marked by dedication to his family, faith, and community.
Joe graduated from Duquesne University in 1973 with a degree in Mathematics. His passion for learning led him to further his education at the University of Delaware, where he earned an MBA in 1988. Professionally,
Joe built a successful career at Wilmington Trust Corporation, where he worked in Information Technology from 1978 until his retirement in 2010.
A devout Roman Catholic, Joe found great comfort and strength in his faith. He was deeply involved with his parish community at St. Helena's Catholic Church, where he volunteered tirelessly and formed lasting connections with fellow parishioners.
Joe's life was enriched by his many hobbies and interests. He loved spending time outdoors walking, bicycling, and gardening. He also enjoyed the thrill of watching horse racing and cherished evenings spent playing cards with friends. Known for his quiet strength and kindness, Joe had a warm sense of humor that brought joy to those around him.
Joe is survived by his beloved daughter Beth and her husband Paul; his sisters Anne Marie (Ed), Kathleen, and Peggy (George); and his brother Bud (Andrea). He was predeceased by his parents, Anne and Frank, as well as his brother Jim.
Memories of Joe will be treasured by all who knew him. May his legacy of kindness, faith, and laughter continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Thursday, March 26, 2026, 5:30-7:30 PM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at St. Helena's Catholic Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE. Interment will be private.
