Obituary of Kathleen P. Julason
Kathleen Julason, nee Meyers, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away at Chester County Hospital after a sudden illness on March 20, 2026. She was 79 years old.
Kathleen was born to the late John "Calvin" and Catherine (Collins) Meyers in Philadelphia and grew up in Glenolden. She graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School and later Delaware County Community College. She worked as a paralegal for many years after her children were grown.
Above all, Kathleen was selflessly devoted to her family and life-long friends, with her favorite and proudest role being Mom and Nanny to her children and grandchildren. She adored her cousins and looked forward to family gatherings that provided endless hours of laughter and love. She was very astute about current events and passionate in her political beliefs. She enjoyed days under an umbrella on the beach in Stone Harbor, NJ; sewing; and researching her family's ancestry, particularly the Collins clan back to County Louth, Ireland. She was a wonderful cook and baker, legendary for her anisette cookies made from a recipe that her husband's grandfather shared only with her. She was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, having first purchased season tickets with her husband in 1978, and loved watching games with their children and grandchildren.
Kathleen is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Richard Julason; her children, Kristin Julason Damato (Mark) of Arlington, VA, and Rich Julason Jr. (Maren Hartman) of Rye, NY; her grandchildren, Collin Mark Damato, Sophia Kathelene Damato, Quinn Robert Julason, and Arthur Meyers Julason; her sisters, Denise Kazmierski and Dawn Navazio; her niece and nephews; and many loving cousins. In addition to her parents, Kathleen is predeceased by her late sister Jacqueline Meyers.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 430 Valleybrook Rd., Glen Mills, PA. Visitation will be welcomed 9:15 - 10:15 a.m. with a funeral mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
