Obituary of Pauline Marie Frieze
Pauline M. Frieze (Fortuna), 93 died on March 5, 2026.
Born to the late Phillip and Catherine (Manerchia) Fortuna in Chester, PA on October 24, 1932, Pauline was a lifelong resident of Marcus Hook, PA until her recent move to the Residence of Chadds Ford in Glen Mills.
She attended Eddystone High School, graduating class of 1950.
Before marrying her husband John (Jack), she worked as a secretary until becoming a homemaker. After raising her family, she worked at Widener University and then at the Marcus Hook Police Department before her retirement.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Marcus Hook for 81 years before closing and then joined Holy Rosary Church in Claymont, DE. While she was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, she belonged to the Mount Carmel Sodality and the Church Senior Club. She continued with the Church Senior Club at Holy Rosary and served as secretary for many years.
Pauline loved sports. She enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Yankees. She was a people person and was always ready to go out to her favorite restaurants for lunch and dinner. She especially loved being around her family and looked forward to all the holidays. She loved getting together with extended family on Memorial Day at Clayton Park.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by her husband of 49 years, John (Jack) Frieze and a son, John (Jackie) Frieze, Jr., brothers Joseph, Frank, Jake, Alfred, and Bill and two sisters, Mary Barnett and Jean Montella.
Pauline is survived by her daughters Karen (Brian), Diane (Charlie) and son Michael (Terry), her cherished grandchildren, Jaclyn (Jason), Jillian (Tony), Jessica (Michael) and Ryan (Katelyn), great grandchildren, Eric, Hailey, Poppy and soon to be born great grandson, Carter, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and lifetime friends.
Pauline's family would like to thank the staff at the Residence of Chadds Ford, especially the nursing staff, Accent Care Hospice, Bayada nurses, and the nursing staff at Riddle Hospital that took such good care of her.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
