Obituary of John H. Sproul

John H. "Jack" Sproul, age 92, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away at Rose Court at Maris Grove on February 22, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Jack was raised in Lansdowne, PA by his parents, Alfonzo and Mildred (Hardiman) Sproul. He had been a resident of Maris Grove for the past 19 years and previously lived in Upper Providence and Springfield, PA. Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Lebanon Valley College. An entrepreneur at heart, Jack owned and operated his own coin laundry business for many years. A devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, Jack was an active member of the Maris Grove Veterans Club and the Media Rotary Club, where he faithfully served as Treasurer. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Brecht. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Bertie Brooks Sproul; his three children, Susan (David) Fetsko, John Sproul Jr., and Sharon (Rick) Wenner; six grandchildren, Justin (Elena), Alexandra (Steve), Kyle, Jessica, Erika (Joe), and Sabrina (Kyle); and three great-grandchildren, Riley, Joey, and Bennett. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 2:00–3:00 PM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA 19060. A memorial service will begin at 3:00 PM. Interment will be private.
