Obituary of Charles Creighton
Charles "Chuck" Creighton, age 89, of Garnet Valley, PA, passed away at his home on February 16, 2026.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Winona Zimmerman Creighton. Chuck had been a resident of Garnet Valley in the Foxfield community for the past 20 years and previously lived in Aston, PA and Folcroft, PA.
He graduated from John Bartram High School in 1952 and went on to graduate from Penn State in 1963. Chuck worked for many years as a draftsman at ITE Circuit Breaker. He later became the owner of 5C Delivery Service and Associated Air Freight before retiring in the late 1990s.
Chuck enjoyed spending summers in Avalon, NJ, and winters in Bonita Springs, FL. He had a passion for trains and model cars and took great pride in building his own train village. He was an avid fan of the Phillies and the Eagles and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Above all, Chuck was most proud of his family and cherished the time spent creating lasting memories with them.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Frances Carretta Creighton (2022); his first-born son, Stephen Creighton (2022); his granddaughter, Heather Creighton; and his sister, Winona Chapates.
He is survived by his children: Donna Sharpless (Greg); Deborah Veneri; Charles Creighton Jr.; and Robert Creighton (Therese) and a daughter-in-law, Anne Marie Creighton. Charles was lovingly known as “Pop Pop” to his grandchildren: Stephen Creighton, Tommy Teufel, Samantha Rule, Brittany Sharpless, Anjelica Veneri, Brett Creighton, Adrianna Veneri, Xavier Creighton, Haley Creighton, Skylar Creighton, Therese Burns, Matthew Alessi, and Ashley Alessi.
He was “Poppy” to his great-grandchildren, to Chase Rule, Emma Rule, Layla Rule,
Keira Creighton, Owen Creighton, Stephen Creighton, Brady Creighton, Ava Creighton Brynne Creighton and Trey Teufel.
Services for Chuck will remain private.
