Obituary of Patricia J. Thompson

Patricia Joye Thompson, age 89, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away on February 13, 2026, at Rose Court at Maris Grove.

Born in Williamsburg, PA, Patricia was the daughter of Glenn and A. Glendora (Zimmerman) Brumbaugh and was raised in Altoona, PA. She resided in Glen Mills for the past 19 years, having previously lived in Ridley Park, PA.

Patricia dedicated many years of her life to nursing. She graduated from Lancaster General Hospital, and for many years she worked with her husband, Dr. Elmer Lee Thompson in his medical practice. In 1979, she became the school nurse at Ridley High School, where she served faithfully until her retirement. In addition, Patricia volunteered at Taylor Hospital.

Patricia found great joy in reading, basket weaving, cooking, and entertaining guests. She especially cherished time spent at the beach with friends and family. Devoted to her faith, she attended Westminster Church in West Chester and was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Ridley Park.

In addition to her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elmer Lee Thompson, M.D., who passed away in 2021, and her sister, Beverly Ann Messner.

She is survived by her three children: Patricia (Judy) G. Thompson; Laura L. (John) Beeghley; and Carol L. (David) Deebold; her sister, Victoria (William) Earnest; four grandchildren, Rachel Hennessy, Scott Beeghley, Emily Cellini and Andrew Deebold; and two great-grandchildren, Ava and Brooks.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10:00–10:50 AM at Maris Grove Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA. A Nurses Tribute will begin at 10:50 AM, followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Interment will remain private.
