Obituary of Karen L. Sofka
Karen L. Sofka, a twenty plus year resident of Glen Mills, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away on February 11, 2026. She was eighty -one.
Born and raised in Racine, WS, she was the daughter of the late Frank A. and the late Florence Alma Howarth Sofka.
Karen worked in research and testing at Astra-Zeneca and retired in the early 2000's.
Being very social, Karen loved living at Maris Grove, where she volunteered to organize many activities, ran the theatre program and enjoyed many happy hours with her friends. She loved to travel and would immerse herself in the local culture, history and food. Karen also enjoyed card games, especially playing solitaire.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her stepfather, Lester Howlett and sisters Alice Jean Larsen and Elizabeth Ann Sofka Christensen. She is survived by her children Jason (Kelia Ramos) Hay, Kevin Hay and Robin Hay, grandchildren Ayden Hay, Caillin Hay and Anthony Calderon and sister, Janet Coupe.
