Obituary of Wesley Vernon Clevenger
Wesley Vernon Clevenger (Wes, Vern,Vernie) of Sprinfield, PA, passed away unexpectedly on February 4, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born in Upland, PA, Wesley was the son of the late Wesley and Helen Brown Clevenger. As a young man, he developed a love for sports that stayed with him throughout his life. He attended Widener University, where he played football.
Wesley dedicated many years to teaching in the Garnet Valley School District, where he also coached both wrestling and football. Wrestling was his greatest passion, and he took pride in mentoring and guiding young athletes and students to be their best beyond the classroom and the mat. Wesley had a lifelong love of horse racing and made annual trips to Saratoga with friends to attend the races. At one time, he even owned racehorses of his own. He also enjoyed reading, golfing, and completing the New York Times crossword puzzle each Sunday. A devoted sports fan, Wesley faithfully followed the Phillies and the Eagles.
Wesley is survived by many loving cousins and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
