Obituary of Dorothy W. Meluskey
Dorothy W. Meluskey of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Springfield and West Chester, passed away on February 5, 2026, at Maris Grove Retirement Community. She was 80 years old.
Born in Philadelphia to the late Peter and Dorothy Wade, Dorothy grew up in Springfield and attended St. Francis of Assisi School. She graduated from Prendergast High School and then West Chester University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education and met the love of her life, Tony. Dorothy and Tony married in September 1967, and over 59 years, built a life based on true love and partnership that shone as an example to all who knew them.
Dorothy took time to raise her three children before returning to her beloved St. Francis of Assisi School where she taught 7th and 8th grade Language Arts for 21 years and volunteered as a Spanish teacher after retiring.
Always ready for her next adventure, Dorothy enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe. While at home, she loved attending her grandchildren’s activities, her weekly Rock Steady Boxing classes, birdwatching, and spending summers in Ocean City, NJ. She was active in the Parkinson’s support group and cherished her community at Maris Grove. Above all, she treasured spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband Tony; her children Anthony (Carroll) Meluskey, Jr., Michael (Jennifer) Meluskey, and Julie (Steve) Smith; her grandchildren Jackie, Jessica, Sean, Colin, and Brian Meluskey; and her siblings Peter (Helen) Wade, Margaret (David) Owsik, and Martin (Marian) Wade.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her brother Joseph Wade and her granddaughter Carolyn Rose Meluskey.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation from 12:00–1:00 PM on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Maris Grove Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA. A funeral liturgy will follow at 1:00 PM.
