Obituary of Barbara A. Darhun

Barbara was born in Philadelphia to Peter and Victoria Luzenski Darhun. She was a resident of Middletown, DE for 20 years, previously residing in Brookhaven & Aston, PA where she raised her family.

Barbara spent many years working as a phone operator for Bell Telephone/Verizon and later when she retired, Walmart in Middletown, DE, where she enjoyed staying busy and connecting with others. She was an avid reader and found great joy in spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara was an animal lover and cherished her cats, Lucy, Maggie, and Jax, who were constant companions.

Barbara enjoyed many hobbies, including ceramics, solving puzzles, watching movies, and making trips to Cape May. Barbara was also a proud and active member of the Red Hat Society, where she found friendship with other members. Barbara loved cooking for her family; especially her famous pierogies from a recipe handed down to her from her Mother and Great Grandmother. She also enjoyed listening to music; the band Queen (Freddie Mercury), was her favorite.

In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her brother, Peter Darhun. She is survived by children, Tim (Eileen) Pilkowski and Donna Davies; sister, Dolores Lashkivich along with grandchildren, Michael (Amanda) Sweeney, Joseph (Nicole) Sweeney, Victoria Davies, and Dakota Pilkowski; great-grandchildren, Harper, Nolan, and Mason Sweeney. She is also survived by her dear friends Pat Petrosky, Irene Wargo and many other friends.

Services & interment will remain private.
