Joseph DeLuca

Obituary of Joseph A. DeLuca

Joseph A. DeLuca, a twenty-three–year resident of Garnet Valley, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his family and friends on January 14, 2026, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He was 58 years old.

Joe was born in Drexel Hill and was the son of Diane Keys and the late Joseph Q. DeLuca. He was raised in North Wilmington and graduated from Concord High School, Class of 1985. Following graduation, Joe became a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 98. He enjoyed a long and distinguished career as an electrician and worked for many years with Hatzel & Buehler.

In 1992, Joe married the love of his life, Michell Hill DeLuca. Together they began their family in New Castle, DE , moved to North Wilmington and later settled in Garnet Valley. They recently celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary.

When Joe wasn’t working he enjoyed —riding his lawnmower, listening to tunes, making trips to the grocery stores, finding deals for both home and work, spending time at the beaches of Ocean City, New Jersey and recently camping showed Joe how it can take you away from the daily stresses of life. Above all else, his greatest love was his family, especially his two beloved granddaughters, with whom he cherished every moment.

In addition to his wife and mother (Tom), Joe is survived by his three daughters, Cassi, Heather, and Holly; his sister, Cathy (Mark Dure-Smith); his brother, Mark (Diana) DeLuca; his granddaughters, Luciana and Emilia; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his much-loved extended IBEW Local 98 family.

Family and friends are invited to attend Joe’s visitation on January 23, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11:00 a.m., at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA 19060.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Joe’s memory to Grandparents Stepping Up, 887 Fairfax Rd, Drexel Hill, Pa 19026  or Fostering Hope of Delaware County.
