Obituary of Ronald Rago
Ron Rago, a resident of Bordentown Township and previously Marlton, NJ passed away on January 1, 2026. He was 75 years old.
Ron was born in Paterson NJ on September 26, 1950, the son of Angelo and Kathryn Rago. His family moved to Willingboro in the 1960's where he graduated from Kennedy High School and then attended Villanova University. Ron met his future wife Chris in Willingboro as their families lived on the same street. They created many memories together in their 51 years of marriage.
After college Ron began working as a steel salesman requiring a move to New Hampshire for a few years. He eventually joined the family business in NJ managing two of the four Kay's Hallmark stores they owned. After the stores closed he became manager of Ace Hardware and then manager of Voorhees Tru Value Hardware.
Ron had a lifelong love of music, which began at an early age when he began playing accordion in grade school. He joined the musicians union and played regularly in his twenties and thirties on the Cordovox. In his later years, he started playing bass guitar.
He was a car enthusiast with his first car being a red Mustang, then buying a Plymouth Road Runner and eventually he fulfilled his dream of owning a Corvette. He also enjoyed cruising on his motorcycle down to the shore and around town.
Ron was a serious student in the martial arts and trained many years in Tae Kwon Do and Aikido. He proudly earned a Second Degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, enjoyed teaching at Lee's Tae Kwon Do in Marlton, and participated in many demonstrations, often breaking cinder blocks with his hand.
Ron was a dedicated Philadelphia Flyers fan and loved going to the games, starting back when they played in the Spectrum. He never missed a game on tv and rooted them on enthusiastically. After retiring, he took a part time job at the Skate Zone in Voorhees where the Flyers practiced. He met many of them and even got to drive the Zamboni.
Ron is survived by his wife; Christine, their son; Gregory (Emily Blumenthal), daughter; Lyndsey Claro (Dan), brothers; Gary (Theresa) Rago, Jim (Anita) Rago, granddaughters; Josephine Claro and Sylvia Rago.
Ron is also predeceased by his grandson, Louie Rago.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be missed beyond words by his family. His family will be forever indebted for the tender, loving, care provided by Donna Q at Brookdale, the Brookdale Hamilton staff, and Serenity Hospice.
