Obituary of Frank James Simmons Sr.
Frank J. Simmons, Sr., of Springfield, PA, passed away on January 3 at the age of 70. Born in Chester, PA, Frank was the beloved son of the late Frank Rudolf Simmons and Mildred Aminto Simmons. He was a proud graduate of St. James High School.
Frank enjoyed a long and successful career in retail management, spending many years with Wilmington Dry Goods. He had a passion for classic cars, especially his cherished 1969 Plymouth GTX, and loved attending classic car shows. Frank also enjoyed playing golf and was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.
In his younger years, Frank was an accomplished basketball player. He also had a love for music, once playing in a band, and was a lifelong Elvis fan. Above all else, Frank's greatest joy was his family, whom he loved deeply.
In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his sister, Denise Balla. He is survived by his son, Frank J. Simmons, Jr. (Melissa); grandson, Frank Charles Simmons; brother, Michael Simmons; nephew, Dominick (Rachel) Balla; and his dear friend, Angela DiPilla.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Friday, January 9, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11:00 a.m., with inurnment at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood, PA.
