Obituary of Bobby Vickers

Bobby R. Vickers, age 83, of Deal Island, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2026. He was born and raised in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, to the late James O'Dell and Mary Carlton Vickers.

Bobby had resided on Deal Island for the past year and previously lived in Townsend, Delaware, and Aston, Pennsylvania. He was self employed at KV Excavating and Wastewater for 25 years. Prior to that he was an operating engineer at Local Union 542 and was self employed at Vickers automotive  before retiring in 2015.

Bobby had a lifelong love of cars, whether attending car shows or enjoying his time as a race car driver. He also had a fond appreciation for antiques.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife; Karen Howett Vickers, they were married for 61 years. by his son, Vincent Vickers,14 siblings, his grandsons; Bobby Vickers, Jr, Joseph DiMatteo, Sr, Vincent D. Vickers and great grand daughter Jolie DiMatteo.

He is survived by his three children: Bobby (Susan) Vickers, Jennifer Dimatteo, and Vicke Vickers; 1 sister, Doris Vickers Perkins of Wilksoboro, NC. 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grand child.  

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Aston, Pennsylvania. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.paganofuneralhome.com
