Obituary of Christopher Verica

Christopher Verica, age 60, of Media, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 26, 2025.

Chris was raised in Havertown, Pennsylvania, by his late parents, Robert J. and Fay (Haas) Verica. He was a graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School (1983), where he played both football and hockey. He went on to graduate from Johns Hopkins University, where he also played football. He later earned his Master's Degree and built a meaningful career as a psychiatric nurse practitioner employed by Crozer Chester Medical Center.

Chris enjoyed visiting the Jersey Shore and the Outer Banks. He was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Flyers, a friend of Bill W., enjoyed cycling—including participating in the Tour de Shore—and was an avid reader. He enjoyed playing street and ice hockey.

In addition to his parents, Chris is preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Verica. He is survived by his two children, Emily (Nicholas) Piwonka and Pasha Verica; his former wife, Joan Verica (O'Donnell); three siblings, Robert J. Verica Jr. (Patricia), Vanessa Stroup (Rick), and Mark Verica (Cristine); as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A visitation for Chris will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Interment S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
