Obituary of Joan E. Rohrer
Joan E. Rohrer, a longtime resident of Oxford, PA, and formerly of Boothwyn, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, at Ware Presbyterian Village. She was 92 years old.
Born in Trevorton, PA, Joan was the daughter of the late Melvin and Hilda (Houser) Yeich. After graduating from high school, she married the love of her life, John W. Rohrer. Together they settled in Boothwyn, PA, where they raised their family before later moving to Oxford.
Joan and her husband were devoted members of the First Baptist Church of Oxford. A loving homemaker, Joan found great joy in her faith, attending church, and spending time doing needlework. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, dedication to family, and quiet devotion to those she loved.
She is survived by her children, Rodney (Vicki) Rohrer and Rhonda Merrill; her brother, Melvin Yeich; her sister, LaRae Shandry; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her sisters, Arlene Yeich and Nina Long, and her brother, Elwood Yeich.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Oxford, 552 Market Street, Oxford, PA. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., with interment immediately following at Oxford Cemetery.
