Obituary of Betty Ann Gilchrist

Betty Ann Gilchrist, 67, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, at Wilmington Hospital.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Betty spent most of her life in the Delaware Valley, residing in Linwood, PA, before making Wilmington her home for the past five years. She dedicated many years to a career in retail sales, where her kindness and warm spirit touched countless lives.

Betty found joy in traveling and cherished her time at the beach in Stone Harbor, as well as trips to Mexico, the Bahamas, cruises, and visits to Florida. Above all, her greatest happiness came from being with her family—especially her beloved granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence W. and Anna Sakowski Lauer. Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, John J. Gilchrist; her daughter, Laura, and son-in-law James Clements; her granddaughters, Kearstin and Serenity Clements; her sister, Nancy Ann Cannavo (late husband David); and many nieces and nephews who will remember her with love.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Saturday, December 13, from 10:00–11:00 AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held privately.
