Obituary of Stephen J. Smith

Stephen J. Smith, age 81, of Garnet Valley, PA, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025. Born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia, Steve was the beloved son of the late Stephen and Rona Smith. A veteran, Steve served his country in the Army Reserve. He earned his bachelor's degree in Business from St. Joseph's University and went on to build a remarkable 46-year career in Marketing with GSK in Philadelphia, where he was respected for his dedication, professionalism, and steady presence. Steve embraced life with a joyful spirit. He loved traveling, gardening, and golf but nothing brought him greater happiness than being with his family. Steve is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Annamarie (Silla); his three sons, Stephen (Karen), Jeffrey (Susan), and Matthew (Melissa); his brother, Gerald (Lori); and eight grandchildren: Ally, Connor, Alexis, Caden, Jack, Logan, Madeline, and Ryan. Family and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 9:30–10:45 AM at St. Cornelius Catholic Church on Ridge Road in Chadds Ford, PA.
