Obituary of Mary Ann Roman

Mary Ann Roman, age 82, of Trainer, PA, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, at Christiana Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware.

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Frederick and Anne (McCaughey) Herman. She was raised in Chester, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Notre Dame High School.

Mary Ann married the love of her life, Robert S. Roman, and together they shared fifty-seven wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2023. The couple made their home in Trainer, where they built a life centered on love, family, and faith.

Mary Ann devoted her life to caring for others. Whether preparing family meals and holiday gatherings, raising her children, doting on her grandsons, or tending to her sisters, even in her later years—she always put others before herself. She preferred to stay out of the spotlight, content to find joy in the happiness of those around her.

Affectionately known as "Mamie," Mary Ann had a stubborn spirit and a warm heart. She loved playing Christmas music in July, watching the Hallmark Channel and QVC, and was known for her uncanny sense of direction—never needing a map and always finding the best shortcuts. A proud and passionate Phillies fan, Mary Ann cheered on her team through every season.

Mary Ann is survived by her daughter Debbie (Mike) Puliti, her son Robert J. Roman, her beloved grandsons Nick and Kevin Puliti, her sisters Kathy Herman, Ellen Covolus, and Louise Miloro, and her brother Frederick Herman. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters Patricia Herman, Margaret Ferriola, and Elizabeth Herman, and her brother Daniel Herman.

Family and friends are invited to her visitation on Tuesday, November 18th, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA, followed by her funeral service at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery, 29 Cemetery Road, Shenandoah, PA 17976.
