Obituary of David G. Faulkner
If you were lucky enough to know David (Dave) G. Faulkner during his 71 years, you know how much laughter and joy he brought into every room.
Born in Chester, PA, Dave was raised in Trainer, PA, by his late mother, Jean (Petryk) Faulkner. He was a graduate of Chichester High School, Class of 1972.
Dave worked as a Refinery Operator for Sun Oil Company for 32
years before retiring in 2009. He loved spending summers at the Delaware beaches where he enjoyed surf fishing at the Indian River Inlet. Dave could often be found cheering on the Phillies, the Eagles, watching golf or trying to win final Jeopardy. Always the entertainer, Dave loved to host his family and friends, providing them with a delicious meal, a cocktail, and a good laugh. Dave also loved the time he spent with his grandchildren- by making them laugh with a good "Popi joke" or wearing a goofy hat.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara (Carr), his daughter and son-in-law, Lauren & Timothy Cusick and son, David J. Faulkner; big brother & sister-in-law Ernie & Rosie Faulkner and brother Eugene Faulkner; and six cherished grandchildren Logan, Everett, Lachlan, Jude, Violet, and Hazel. His life was also filled with lots of love from all of the Carr Family, extended family and countless close friends.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held on Monday, November 24 from 12-3 p.m. at DelVets Hall- 2535 Veterans Way Wilmington, DE 19810. Please wear your favorite Phillies/Eagles gear or a Hawaiian shirt to honor Dave.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society to support pancreatic cancer research.
