Obituary of John F Voelker
John F. Voelker, age 64, of Clifton Heights, PA, passed away on November 6, 2025, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Born in Upper Darby, PA, to the late Joseph L. and Marie (Ryan) Voelker, John spent the past eight years residing in Clifton Heights, previously a lifelong resident of Springfield, PA.
John dedicated his career to helping children as an elementary school speech therapist, working for Don Guanella School, Elwyn and Cora Services. A proud graduate of Cardinal O’Hara High School, he went on to earn his bachelor's degree from West Chester University.
John was a man of many talents and passions. He loved music, pottery, candle and jewelry making, refinishing furniture, cooking, and baking. Known for his creativity and thoughtfulness, John had a gift for making everything personal — from handmade cards to unique gifts. He was a “kick-ass” uncle who brought love, laughter, and generosity to every family gathering.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Peter A. Leavy, and his nephew, Ryan Gaskell.
He is survived by his siblings: Patricia (Edward) O’Leary, Janice Leavy, Joseph (Ahnee) Voelker, and Mary Ellen (Chuck) Gaskell; along with eight nephews, three nieces, and fourteen great-nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Interment will remain private.
