Obituary of Kirk A. Frederiksen

Kirk A. Frederiksen, age 77, of Swarthmore, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on November 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Canandaigua, New York, Kirk was the son of the late Albert and Elaine (Benham) Frederiksen. He earned his bachelor's degree from Lycoming College in 1970, where he met the love of his life, Marilyn. The two were married in 1969 and shared fifty-six wonderful years together.

A resident of Swarthmore since 1978, Kirk enjoyed a long and respected career in the legal printing profession, serving as a client production agent. Earlier in his life, he worked as a Professional Scouter Executive with the Boy Scouts of America. He also proudly served his country for more than twenty years in the National Guard, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant.

Kirk was an active member of several historical and community organizations, including the Sons of the Revolution, the Mayflower Society, the Madison Street Methodist Church, and the First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry. A passionate student of history and an avid scale model builder, Kirk was also a skilled home craftsman. Above all, he cherished his family, who were the center of his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn Frederiksen; his daughter, Amy (Kevin) Connell; his grandchildren, Andy and Kirsten Connell.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Swarthmore Presbyterian Church, 727 Harvard Avenue, Swarthmore, PA. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately after in the Church's Fellowship Hall.  Interment will be private.
