Obituary of Mark Jeffrey Rager

Mark Jeffrey Rager, age 65, of Boothwyn, PA, passed away at his home on October 28, 2025. Born in Johnstown, PA. Mark spent the past six years residing in Marcus Hook, PA, after many years of living in Northeast Philadelphia. Before moving to Pennsylvania, Mark lived in Maryland and Georgia, where he still has family and friends.

Mark worked as a Helicopter Maintenance Inspector and had a lifelong passion for music. A talented self-taught musician, he played guitar, mandolin, and nearly any instrument with strings. His wife, Shellyanne, lovingly referred to him as her "little strummer boy". Devoted to his faith, Mark was an active member of the Community Church of Ocean Pines in Maryland. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and also in the U.S. Army Special Forces.

Mark was preceded in death by his stepfather, Alan Richardson Morris. Although Mark considered him his father, Alan didn't come into Mark's life until he was about 14 years old. He is survived by his loving wife of five years, Shellyanne Rager; his mother, Frances Mary Miller Morris; his children, Rachel Nicole (Nathan) Hoeller, Travis Hunter (Sinead) Rager, and Colleen Rose (Taylor Floyd) Rager; his brother, Lee Charles(Wendy); and his sister, Marci Rae Rager. He was the proud grandfather of Isaiah Nathaniel, Aerabella Nicole, Marlee Nadine, and Griffin Alan.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15th, from 10:30 AM- 11:00 AM at the Community Church of Ocean Pines, 11227 Racetrack Road, Berlin, MD, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mark's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org).
