Obituary of Mathilde I. Otten

Mathilde I. Otten "Mel" "Tata", age 88 of Glen Mills, PA, passed away on October 14, 2025, at home. Born to Hans and Marie Muz Otten in Arlington, VA. She resided in Glen Mills, PA, for the past 11 years with her nephew Baron, his wife Gloria Davis, and their four sons, Stephen, Kyle, Tyler, and Zach. She previously resided in Drexel Hill, PA, for over 50 years. Mel had a 50 year plus career as a Nurse Anesthetist at Presbyterian.

Mel attended the Valleypoint Church with her niece and children for many years. She was known as an avid Phillies fan and was a season ticket holder for 50 years. She enjoyed playing card games, traveling the world, and spending time at the Ocean City, NJ beaches. Mel is preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Marie, brothers, Ralph and Edgar, sister, Frieda, and niece, Kristen Otten. In addition to Baron, Gloria, and family, Mel was also survived by nieces & nephews, John (Danielle) Otten, Bill Otten, Richard (Cindy) Otten, Susan Otten, Carol (Steve) Wittry, as well as a host of great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, October 24, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, located at 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA, followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM. Interment, Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA. Donations in her memory may be made to Susan G.
