Obituary of Alfred T. Jordan, III

Alfred "Al" T. Jordan, III, age 72, of Wilmington, DE, passed away at home on October 12, 2025.

Born and raised in Wilmington, he was the son of the late Alfred T. Jordan, II, and Josephine Szymanski Jordan, and remained a lifelong resident of the city he loved.

Al was a proud member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and dedicated many years as a Teamster truck driver. He enjoyed spending time at his beach home, cheering on the Phillies and all Philadelphia sports teams — though he quietly held a soft spot for the Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to his parents, Al was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Lori Vickers, who passed in 2012, and his cherished dog, Pookie.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, JoAnne Czerwinski Jordan; his four children: Sharon (Ken) Clugston, Diane (Jim) Starr, Charlotte (Archie) Vickers, and Alfred T. Jordan, IV (John); four siblings: Lorraine Bahel, Virginia Boone, Joan Williams, and Richard Jordan; eleven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 4701 Weldon Road, Wilmington, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Entombment will take place at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
