Obituary of Dorothea F. Mills
Dorothea F. Mills, age 96, of Media, PA, passed away on September 24, 2025, at Bryn Mawr Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia to the late Charles Freer and Marietta Hoguet, Dorothea spent her last 8 years in Media, PA. She previously lived in Aston for 10 years and in Concord Township since 1964.
Dorothea was a devoted homemaker who found joy in gardening, bird watching, sewing and working on puzzles. A passionate supporter of all Philadelphia sports, Eagles, Flyers and especially the Phillies. She was also musically gifted, participated in the Hand Bell Choir at Elam Methodist Church, and serving as a founding member of the West Chester Area Community Chorus for 22 years.
An active member of her community, Dorothea was involved in the Red Hat Society as well as senior groups in Concord and Aston. She loved the beach, especially Ocean City, New Jersey, but above all, her greatest joy was her family. She was a proud and loving presence at countless games, performances, and milestones, always supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in all their endeavors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald A. Mills (2006); her son, David Mills (2015); grandson Brandon Mills (2011); and daughter-in-law, Carol Mills (2018).
Dorothea is survived by her loving children: Daniel Mills, Donna Stoner, Douglas Mills (Peggy), Derryl Mills (Linda), Dale Mills (Tina), Deborah Gargani (John), Darlene Bailey (Mike), Darren Mills (Susanne). She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00PM and Friday, October 3rd from 10:00 - 11:00AM at Pagano Funeral Home,3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Aston, PA
