Obituary of Louise M. Land
Louise M. Land, age 81, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away at her home on September 8, 2025.
Born in Philadelphia, Louise resided for the past nine years in the Fox Hill Farms community in Glen Mills, previously making her home in West Chester, PA for 44 years.
A dedicated nurse administrator, Louise earned her R.N. diploma of Nursing from Misericordia Hospital in Philadelphia and later earned a BS in Health Education and her Master’s Degree in Health Administration from West Chester University. She went on to serve as head of the Infectious Disease Department at Chester County Hospital. Louise also worked as an Assistant Vice President at Independence Blue Cross, helping to lead the Mental Health-Suicide Prevention department.
A proud U.S. Veteran, Louise served as a medical-surgical nurse in the Army during the Vietnam War. Deeply committed to her community, she chaired the Welcome Committee at Fox Hill Farms and was active with the St. Agnes Cooks and Christmas projects.
She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, reading, cooking, and winter vacations, but cherished time spent with her family. She and Matt played tennis and enjoyed boating for many years.
Louise was the daughter of the late Thomas and Louise. She is survived by her beloved husband, Emmett Matthew Land, Jr.; her children, Jennifer Land and David Land, and her grandson, Ryan. Louise was predeceased by her older brothers Tom and Michael, and her younger sister, Maureen.
Funeral services will be held privately.
