Obituary of Patricia Reish Hemphill

November 2,1937 -August 31, 2025

Patricia Reish Hemphill passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on August 31 at the age of 87. She was born on November 2,1937 in Lewisburg, PA. She was raised in Lewisburg and went to college at Bucknell University where she met her husband, Bob. Pat was a member of the Tri Delta sorority. She graduated from Bucknell in May 1959 with a degree in education. They were married in August 1959 and were together for 66 wonderful years.

After they were married they lived in the Philadelphia area, most recently at White Horse Village, a retirement community in Newtown Square. Pat was a teacher, having taught kindergarten as well as first and second grade. She loved their second home in South Carolina and after they both retired in 2000 they would spend about 5 months there each year. Pat played golf, tennis and was also a skier and biker. She was also a member of Rolling Green Golf Club for about 35 years.

Pat loved to travel and she visited all seven continents including Antarctica. Her favorite trip was an African Safari. Pat was very active at White Horse Village. She was in a book club and was on several advisory committees. She chaired the Dining Advisory Committee for five years, and she attended many fitness classes.

Pat was a member of Covenant Methodist Church in Springfield. She was on many committees and chaired the nursery program committee. In recent years she and Bob were affiliate members of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Pat is survived by her husband, Bob, her two children, Scott Hemphill of Glen Mills and daughter Susan Marston of Moraga, CA. She is also survived by her brother, Rick Reish of Mifflinburg, PA, two grandchildren, Emily Marston of New York City and Ben Marston of Moraga, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the WHV Foundation Scholarship Fund or to the Covenant United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
