Virginia Castrovillo

Obituary of Virginia Castrovillo

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Virginia "Ginnie" Castrovillo, age 82. Ginnie passed away peacefully at home on August 12th, 2025, with her daughter, granddaughter, and great-grandson at her bedside. Ginnie was originally from the West Philadelphia and Delco area in Pennsylvania. From 2006 to 2018, she lived in Newark, Delaware, and for the last seven years, she resided in the North Wilmington, Brandywine area of Delaware. In Ginnie's earlier years, she worked as a waitress in upscale restaurants in the Philadelphia area. Ginnie also displayed her talents as an executive secretary for almost twenty years at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania until her retirement. Ginnie was ornery at times, but was fiercely protective of her family and loved ones. She was often described as feisty and spicy by others. She also loved knowing that her spirited demeanor was passed down to her granddaughter. She loved going to flea markets to see what hidden treasures she could find. She believed that what was one person's trash was another person's treasure, and over the years, she found many items that she had until her passing. Ginnie enjoyed shopping with her daughter and granddaughter, solving various puzzles, and watching police procedural shows. She also enjoyed her "goodie goods" which consisted of donuts, small cakes, danishes, and many more bakery items. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Ginnie was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Kenneth Gill and Ann P. (Maiccio) Taylor; her brother, Kenneth "Kenny" Gill; and her beloved grandson, Brandon V Green, who also passed away in 2025. Ginnie is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Gill; granddaughter, Lauren Green; great-grandson, Brandon K Green; and Kimberly's partner of many years, Elliott Green. Ginnie left behind countless memories and will truly be missed. Funeral services will be held privately. Online condolences may be offered at www.paganofuneralhome.com.
