Obituary of Theresa S. Vannett
Theresa S. Vannett, age 86, of Upper Chichester, PA, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025. Born in Southwest Philadelphia, Theresa, known affectionately as Terry, had resided in Upper Chichester for the past 32 years, after many happy years on Laurel Road in Sharon Hill, PA.
A proud graduate of John Bartram High School, Class of 1957, Terry then worked as a receptionist for GE and ARCO. She lived a life filled with love, passion, and creativity. Theresa was a beloved sister, friend, mother, and a proud Nana, whose warmth and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Theresa filled every moment with purpose and creativity. A true artisan, she poured her heart into sewing, quilting, and cross-stitching, crafting hundreds of intricate pieces inspired by her cherished visits to Colonial Williamsburg, VA.
She and her husband Walt shared a love of travel, vacationing in Jamaica, exploring Europe, and enjoying countless cruises together. Yet their greatest joy was found at home with cooking, entertaining, decorating, cultivating their lush garden, and caring for their cats, proudly becoming a "crazy cat lady" to as many as eight at one time. Terry also gave her time generously, fostering and volunteering with Forgotten Cats, and at St. Francis of Assisi House in Aston, PA.
In addition to her parents, John Slivar and Anna Weslawska, Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. Vannett Jr. (2024), and her daughter, Donna Colleluori McCauley (2013).
Theresa is survived by her loving children, Karen (Mark) Wagnon and Teresa Colleluori; her cherished grandchildren, Lauren (Pete) Vasiliadis, Kyle Shahinian, Brittany (Anthony) DeBarberie, Erik (Mallory) Shahinian, and Anna (Matthew) Eller; and four great-grandchildren, Chloe, Nikolaos, Dean, and Sonny.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 30th, from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private
