Obituary of Gerard J Christy

Gerard J. Christy, age 69, of West Chester, PA passed away suddenly on July 28th, 2025 at his home. Born and raised in Chester, PA, he is the son of the late Vincent and Evelyn Christy.

Jerry has resided in West Chester for the past year, previously residing in North Wilmington, DE. He retired from UPS where he was a driver for over 30 years and a member of the Teamsters Union. Jerry attended Resurrection Grade school, St. James High School and graduated from Ridley High in 1975.

He was passionate about Philly sports and an avid Eagles fan. He also enjoyed his beloved dog, Bella, who recently passed. In his younger years, Jerry enjoyed playing softball, boating and spending time with his family eating crabs and drinking beer. Jerry had a magnetic personality. You knew you were automatically loved when you met him. He had such a big heart, he would do anything for you. He was known for giving the best kisses and bear hugs that would warm your heart. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by 3 siblings, Richard and James Christy and Sheila Christy (Poore) as well as his Son in Law Gregory V Riddagh. Jerry is survived by his 2 children, Lauren Riddagh and Gerard Christy Jr.(Alexis), his partner of 23 years, Judi Taylor, a brother, Vince Christy and a grandson, Julian Riddagh.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9th from 9-11 AM followed by a time of Family Sharing at 11 AM. Burial will remain private.
