Obituary of Douglas E. Thornton

Douglas E. Thornton, age 56, of North Wilmington, DE, formerly of West Chester, PA passed away suddenly on July 7, 2025 at his home.

Doug is the President & Owner of New Line Communications which he founded in the year 2000. Doug was known for his passion of Classic Cars. He had many hobbies, including playing the drums, and as a collector of Arcade games. He was an avid movie buff, and rock and roll enthusiast. During his son's childhood years, he would coach their T-Ball teams.

Doug is preceded in death by his father, Raymond D. Thornton. He is survived by his 3 children, Shawn Thornton (Sarah), Caitlyn Thornton and Jason Thornton, his mother, Anna Marie Thornton, 4 sisters, Sheryl Ann Thornton, Anna Marie Thornton, Judy Bloomfield and Janice Thornton, a brother, Steven (Mary) Thornton and 3 grandchildren, Logan, Sienna and Jax Thornton.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th from 9:00-10:30am at the Chichester United Wesleyan Church, 5151 Chichester Ave, Upper Chichester, PA followed by a funeral service at 10:30am. Interment, Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doug's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
