Obituary of George Henry Tompkins
George Henry Tompkins, age 67, of Boothwyn, PA, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, at Christiana Hospital Hospice.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Wallace Henry and Ethel Rutley Tompkins, George spent the past 24 years residing in Boothwyn, previously living in Aston, PA.
George proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He went on to work as an engineer for CSX Railroad, dedicating 15 years to the company. A passionate marksman, George was a member of the Honeybrook Club and found great joy in shooting sports. He was also a voracious reader, particularly of military history, often rereading books to uncover new insights. George enjoyed watching educational and military-related content on YouTube.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Richard Tompkins, and brother-in-law, Dan Clark.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Carol Adams Tompkins; his siblings, Jeanne (Tom) Fillmore, Sally Clark, and Ralph (Andrea) Tompkins; three nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA 19060. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
